How AXWEL collects, uses, and protects your information.
We collect information in two categories:
Account & billing information โ When you sign up for AXWEL or contact us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, company name, billing address, and payment method details. Payment processing is handled by our third-party payment processor; we do not store full credit card numbers.
Usage & analytics data โ We collect anonymized usage metrics from the AXWEL central server component, including feature usage frequency, error reports, and system health telemetry. This data does not include camera footage, audio recordings, face recognition data, or any content processed by your edge devices.
AXWEL is fundamentally different from cloud-based security platforms. The AXWEL edge device runs on hardware you own, on your network. All camera footage, audio recordings, face recognition data, motion clips, and AI inference results are processed and stored locally on your equipment.
This data never leaves your premises unless you explicitly configure cloud camera integrations (e.g., Ivideon). We do not have access to your camera feeds, recordings, face databases, or any content processed by your edge devices.
The only data transmitted to AXWEL servers is account/billing information and anonymized system telemetry, as described in Section 1.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:
Account and billing data is retained for as long as your account is active, plus 90 days after cancellation for dispute resolution purposes. After that, personal data is deleted or anonymized.
On-device data (recordings, face data, motion clips) is managed entirely by you and governed by your own retention policies configured within the AXWEL edge device. We have no ability to access or delete this data remotely.

The AXWEL marketing website uses essential cookies for session management and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how visitors interact with our site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.
The AXWEL application dashboard uses only essential session cookies required for authentication. No third-party tracking cookies are used within the product.
AXWEL may send SMS messages to phone numbers configured by authorized system administrators for security alert notifications. By having your phone number added to the AXWEL alarm contact list, you consent to receive automated security alert messages.
Message types: Security alarm alerts, motion detection notifications, and system status messages.
Message frequency: Messages are sent only when security events occur. Frequency varies based on alarm activity at monitored locations.
Opt-in process: Only authenticated administrators can add phone numbers to receive SMS alerts. Recipients are added manually through the AXWEL dashboard by an authorized administrator with the recipient's verbal or written consent.
Opt-out: You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by asking your system administrator to remove your phone number from the alarm contact list.
Help: Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact your system administrator.
Costs: Message and data rates may apply. AXWEL does not charge for SMS messages, but your mobile carrier may apply standard messaging fees.
Data use: Phone numbers added to the alarm contact list are stored locally on your self-hosted AXWEL instance. Phone numbers are used solely for delivering security alert notifications and are not shared with third parties, sold, or used for marketing purposes.
Carriers: SMS messages are delivered via Telnyx. Supported carriers include all major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
AXWEL is not designed for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of AXWEL after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
